Trait Machine Guide

Complete Trait Machine guide for Roll Anime to Fight. Location, shard costs, reroll probability, best traits for Broly and Ace, and July 2026 tips.

What the Trait Machine does

The Trait Machine is Roll Anime to Fight's passive upgrade system. Insert any fighter, spend Trait Shards, and reroll a random combat or economy passive on that unit. Traits can boost damage, HP, attack speed, crit chance, crit damage, or gold gain. The July 15, 2026 update made traits central to progression because both active codes — BLEACHPART2! and ADMINABUSE! — bundle 25 Trait Shards combined.

Unlike merges, traits do not change unit identity or mutation tier. A Diamond Broly with a strong damage trait remains Broly — only the passive line changes. This makes the machine high-value once you lock a long-term carry. Rerolling fodder commons wastes shards you could spend on Broly, Ace, or a rolled legendary.

How to find and use the machine

Open the main hub after loading Roll Anime to Fight. The Trait Machine sits in the upgrade area near other core systems — look for the machine UI icon on the map edge or in the upgrades panel depending on your client patch. Tap or click the machine, select a unit from inventory, confirm shard cost, and roll.

The July 2026 patch added clearer probability feedback and confirmation dialogs on rerolls. Read the preview before accepting if your client shows trait odds. Mobile players should rotate to landscape for larger trait text during reroll sessions.

  • Select unit → pay Trait Shards → reroll passive
  • Costs scale with unit rarity on some patches — budget extra for legendaries
  • Traits stick until you reroll again — no accidental removal without spending
  • Code units (Broly, Ace) accept traits like any rolled fighter

Shard income after the July update

Primary sources: BLEACHPART2! (10 shards at Wave 1), ADMINABUSE! (15 shards at Wave 76), wave milestone rewards, and event drops. As of July 22, 2026, no expired codes have removed shard bundles from circulation — new accounts still receive the full 25-shard head start from both promos.

Mid-game players farm additional shards by pushing Waves 40–65 during events and repeating high-yield checkpoint runs. Do not hoard shards indefinitely on a weak temporary carry. Identify your Wave 30+ main DPS, then commit rerolls.

Best traits to chase

Combat carries (Broly, Ace, legendary DPS): prioritize flat percent damage, crit damage, then attack speed. Tank slots: HP percent and damage reduction passives if available. Economy alts: gold gain traits for AFK farming sessions — never put economy traits on your boss killer.

Our best traits tier list ranks S-tier passives community-tested for Wave 76 pushes. Chasing perfect triple stats burns shards fast. One strong combat trait plus merge levels clears content for most free-to-play accounts.

Trait budget for code units

Diamond Broly: spend BLEACHPART2! shards after Wave 20 when Broly is confirmed main AoE. One damage trait is enough before mid game; save extra shards from wave farming for a second reroll before Wave 50.

Diamond Ace: ADMINABUSE! grants 15 shards — typically three to five rerolls. Aim for burst damage or crit before pushing past Wave 76 repeatedly. Pair trait investment with our post-Wave 76 guide for endgame roster planning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get traits back after rerolling?
No. Each reroll replaces the previous trait. There is no undo unless the UI offers a confirmation cancel before you accept.
Should I trait machine commons?
Only if a common is your only carry before Wave 10. Otherwise save shards for Broly, Ace, or epics you will keep past Wave 40.
Do traits transfer when merging?
Traits stay on the surviving merged unit in standard merge rules. Verify in-game before merging a heavily traited unit into fodder.
Is the Trait Machine the same as Roll an Anime?
No. Roll an Anime uses different systems and currencies. This guide applies only to Roll Anime to Fight by Another Slop.
